Hog Roast Greetham was recently asked to provide catering for a retirement party, and we were more than happy to oblige! We have been catering for events like this for many years, and we know how to make sure everyone is happy and well taken care of.
This particular event was hosted by staff from a local business, who had come together to honour a long-time employee of their company, John.
Having worked at the company since its inception thirty years ago, John was like a part of the furniture, so it was difficult for his fellow colleagues to see him go, but they were delighted for him to begin the next chapter of his life and enjoy a well-deserved break from the daily grind!
Hog Roast Greetham was also delighted – we could hardly wait to provide the esteemed guest of honour with an exquisite meal! So, as always, our catering team arrived on-site well in advance of the serving time, giving themselves enough time to organise a stunning buffet.
From the moment our team arrived on-site, they were hard at work. Preparing the hog roast took the most time as the meat needed 4 solid hours to cook on the spit.
As the pig slowly rotated over real flames and turned an irresistible shade of gold, Colin, our catering manager, rustled up some tasty side dishes to go with the main attraction. These included homemade applesauce, sage and onion stuffing, salads, coleslaw, gluten-free rolls, and mixed sweet potato and regular fries.
The next few hours flew by, and before we knew it, it was time to celebrate John’s departure and serve our incredible feast!
The guests were delighted with the succulent pork and the accompanying sides that were served, which they chased down with glasses of non-alcoholic champagne, fresh fruit juice and tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
The party was a huge success, and Hog Roast Greetham is proud to have been a part of it. We look forward to catering for many more special occasions like this in the future.
