As 2022 approaches its end, we know that people all across the country are gearing up for a fresh start. For many, entering a new career will be at the top of their bucket list. But for Jim, January 2023 will mark the beginning of a new chapter in his life: retirement!
Having dedicated forty years to his teaching career, Jim is excited to see what else life has in store for him now that he’s entering his twilight years. To his students and co-workers, of course, Jim will be a sadly missed fixture of the school he’s spent the majority of his life working at. So, to remind him of his long-lasting impact and wish him luck and happiness in his future endeavours, the school events committee has organised a surprise party for Jim.
The party will take place on his last shift, a.k.a. the day the schools break up for the Christmas holiday, and so far, everyone has done a marvellous job of keeping schtum of the celebration! We can only imagine how Jim will be feeling when the surprise is finally unveiled in a couple of weeks from now!
Knowing that a party wouldn’t be complete without some yummy food, the school has hired Hog Roast Lyddington to serve our Southern Slow Roast Menu on the day. This particular menu features dishes which are largely inspired by Deep Southern soul food. The event planner, Charlotte, found this menu to be a very fitting choice for the occasion, as Jim has always talked about wanting to see as much of the United States as he can.
Hog Roast Lyddington’s catering manager, Colin, has already made a great impression on Charlotte, who has every faith that with our help, the party will be a resounding success!
From the food options available, the client has asked that we serve our Cajun-spiced whole roast chicken, BBQ pork butt, and Louisiana-inspired sticky pork ribs with a vegan alternative of BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls with 100% plant-based coleslaw. Satisfying every appetite, the feast will also feature macaroni and cheese, mixed fries and seasonal vegetables.
Hog Roast Lyddington is excited to take part in this celebration, and we can hardly wait to help Jim start his retirement years in style!
