Earlier this week marked an important milestone for Hog Roast Manton as we had the honour of catering for our first wedding of 2024!
Samantha and Elliott, the radiant bride and groom, chose to embark on their journey of love with a traditional church wedding surrounded by 175 of their nearest and dearest. While heartfelt vows were exchanged, our dedicated team was already hard at work at the reception venue elsewhere in Rutland, preparing an irresistible spread to welcome the guests upon their arrival.
Samantha and Elliott, stealing a moment for private photos, allowed our team to set the stage for a culinary experience that would complement the joyous occasion perfectly. As the guests were transported to the venue by coach, they were welcomed with a touch of elegance—glasses of champagne or fruit juice served in flute glasses, accompanied by canape platters that featured bite-size nibbles of roasted duck, smoked Scottish salmon, chicken liver parfait, chicken satay skewers, and an enticing Indian selection.
The anticipation built as the guests indulged in these delectable starters, eagerly awaiting the grand entrance of the newlyweds. Cheers and whistles filled the air as Samantha and Elliott made their arrival, setting the stage for an evening filled with love and celebration.
Once the guests had settled into their seats, heartfelt speeches and toasts were made, signalling the moment for Hog Roast Manton to unveil the main course. The chafing dishes revealed a feast that catered to every palate—a succulent hog roast with crackling, stuffing, and applesauce; whole-roasted free-range chicken with stuffing and chipolata sausages; and vegan-friendly BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls. Sides of coleslaw, salads, and dauphinoise potatoes complemented the main dishes, injecting even more flavour into the celebration.
Naturally, the bride and groom were first in line to be served, and their verdict was the first of many rave reviews. The guests could hardly believe how fresh and flavourful each dish tasted and made the most of the volume of food on offer by indulging in extra helpings!
Then, with satisfied smiles, Samantha and Elliott shared their first dance, paving the way for an evening of live music, photo booths, candy floss, and popcorn carts.
As the celebrations ramped up, Hog Roast Manton worked discreetly to clear away the leftovers and catering equipment, proud to have successfully catered for the first wedding of the year.
