As the 11th of November approaches, the world gears up to observe Remembrance Day, a time where we pay homage to the brave souls who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, not just in WWI, but in every conflict that has followed. It’s a time to remember, reflect, and support those who serve or have served in the armed forces. And this year, Hog Roast Egleton is honoured to be an integral part of a meaningful event orchestrated by dedicated event organisers, Charlotte and Ron.
In collaboration with our clients, we are preparing for a special event aimed at servicemen and women and their families. This event is not just a commemoration but also a fundraising effort, where the proceeds from ticket sales, donations, and raffles will be pooled and donated to life-changing military charities. At Hog Roast Egleton, we are deeply proud to contribute to this noble cause by serving a phenomenal feast, and we anticipate a substantial turnout.
To tantalise the taste buds of our esteemed guests, we’ve chosen to prepare our sumptuous Southern Slow Roast Menu. This mouthwatering spread is designed to entice taste buds with a wide variety of flavours.
On this occasion, the feast will comprise Texan 24-hour beef brisket, so tender it practically melts in your mouth, fall-off-the-bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, and succulent BBQ pork butt. As always, each of these meats will be meticulously marinated in our secret rub, enhancing the flavours before they are slow-cooked to perfection.
For our vegetarian/vegan guests, hickory-steeped BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls dressed with coleslaw, will provide a delightful meat-free alternative. And let’s not forget the sides – delectable potato salad, mixed sweet potato and regular fries, and creamy mac and cheese, will complement the main dishes.
Although the Southern Slow Roast Menu traditionally doesn’t include desserts, we’ve gone the extra mile to customise the feast, at the request of our clients. This means our homemade cheesecakes and rich chocolate torte puds will provide a sweet conclusion to this magnificent feast, leaving our guests with a lingering taste of indulgence.
The feast will be presented as a buffet, encouraging a communal dining experience where everyone can dig in and relish the flavours together. We, at Hog Roast Egleton, are eagerly looking forward to this gala event, and we sincerely hope that Charlotte, Ron, and their esteemed guests achieve their fundraising goals.
