Wedding anniversaries are more than just another day on the calendar; they are a yearly reminder of the promises made and the love shared on that special day. And whether it’s been one year or thirty, anniversaries are meant to be celebrated with flair and fervour.
One local Rutland couple, Victoria and Bradley, wholeheartedly agreed with this sentiment. And to commemorate their 5th wedding anniversary, they decided to transport themselves and their loved ones back to their cherished honeymoon destination – Hawaii! While they didn’t actually hop on a plane, they did host a Luau celebration that brought the spirit of the islands to Rutland.
The couple’s anniversary celebration was nothing short of a tropical paradise. Guests were encouraged to dress for the occasion in floral leis, grass skirts, and Hawaiian shirts, which everyone obliged. Limbo competitions and Hula dancing added to the lively atmosphere. But, what’s a Luau without a traditional hog roast? That’s where Hog Roast Cottesmore came in to make the celebration complete!
Hog Roast Cottesmore’s catering team took charge, ensuring that Victoria, Bradley, and their 65 guests enjoyed a feast to remember. A mid-sized free-range hog was the centrepiece of the celebration, and was prepared with meticulous care. The hog was scored, rubbed with salt, and cooked low and slow for several hours, infusing it with irresistible flavours.
The scene that greeted guests upon their arrival was nothing short of impressive. As the meat reached completion, Hog Roast Cottesmore’s catering manager took on the role of master carver, skilfully separating the crispy, golden crackling from the succulent, glistening meat beneath. These delectable morsels were served on gluten-free rolls, generously garnished with stuffing and apple sauce. Fresh salads, coleslaw, and a mix of fries completed the hearty meal.
For the vegetarian and vegan guests, Hog Roast Cottesmore offered a delightful alternative: grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers. The food not only satisfied the guests’ appetites but also added an authentic touch to the Hawaiian Luau experience.
Victoria and Bradley’s anniversary party was a resounding success, with guests raving about the authenticity and mouth-watering flavours of Hog Roast Cottesmore’s menu.
