For Quinn and her fiancé, an outdoor wedding has always been their dream, since they both love gardening, nature, and spending time hiking and visiting new places. The couple planned to get married this September and make the most of the remaining summer with an outdoor reception on a beautiful working farm. The farm will be set up with tables and a dancefloor in the courtyard, although a converted barn will also be available if the weather is not so cooperative on the day. For the catering, the Hog Roast Whitwell team has been hired to serve a classic hog roast to 70 guests, followed by a delicious dessert course. This is the perfect main course for an outdoor wedding as it is the perfect comfort meal to keep the guests warm and satisfied.
On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Whitwell team arrived at the farm in the morning and set up our catering station in the courtyard. We began our food preparation by slow-roasting the hog and ensuring that it was cooked to perfection. The pork was then carved and served in fresh bread rolls, alongside sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. Alongside the mains, we also served roasted baby potatoes and a selection of seasonal vegetables.
For the dessert course, the guests were able to enjoy profiteroles and sticky toffee pudding, with each dish accompanied by English cream and fresh berries. This was the perfect way to end the catering and prepare the guests for an evening of entertainment.
