When Euro fever hits it hits big here in England, and even though we’re all perhaps being slightly more cautious with the “coming home” shouts at this point in the tournament so far, we still each do all we can to catch every second of England action, even when it runs into work hours!
That was the case, at least, with our corporate client yesterday who had us in for all of their staff to watch and enjoy the England – Denmark game with the help of some Hog Roast Stamford foods. With the match kicking off at 5PM UK time, I’ve no doubt that many of you will have had the workplace dilemma yesterday of whether to try and leave early to rush home or to the pub to make it in for kick-off, or to get it up at work right at the end of the day, or even on the bus or train home on your phone.
Our corporate client went a step further by screening the game for their employees, as their regular work hours would normally take them to 6PM. To ensure they wouldn’t have to miss the game, the head of the business decided to stop down all work from 4.30, invited in our Hog Roast Stamford chefs, and treat all of the staff to a screening of the match with our matchday snacks. We thought it was an excellent idea, and since we have worked with this client regularly for workplace lunches and the like over the years, it was an easy enough task to sort out the details at short notice and bring our corporate client all they needed to enjoy the game in proper style, even at work.
Any staff not interested in the game were allowed to just head off at the 4.30 cutoff instead, but by our headcount no one did as everyone tucked into our freshly prepared hog roast rolls and selection of fresh skewers, ribs, slaw, salad, and fries. Even it may not come home in the end, it, at the very least, certainly came to work with Hog Roast Stamford yesterday!
